A Home Away From Home

Imperial Healing House is exactly what the name suggests — a house. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Provo, Utah, our home provides a warm, comfortable environment where girls can focus on healing without feeling institutionalized.

  • Sleep in a real bedroom

  • Chef-prepared meals

  • Community is small and intentional

What to expect when your daughter comes to Imperial

The transition is hard, for your daughter and for you. During her first days, our team focuses on helping her feel safe. She'll meet her individual therapist, get settled into her room, and begin building trust with staff and peers. There's no pressure to dive deep right away. We meet her where she is.

Within the First Week, Our Clinical Team Completes a Thorough Assessment and Builds a Treatment Plan Tailored Specifically to your Daughter.

This isn't a one-size-fits-all program. Her plan is built around:

Her personal history
Her strengths
The goals your family identifies together

As she grows, her plan grows with her. We reassess and adjust regularly.

Your family is part of the treatment team

At Imperial, we don't just help your daughter — we support your entire family. Research consistently shows that adolescent treatment outcomes improve dramatically when families are actively involved. That's why family isn't an afterthought in our program. It's central to everything we do.

Weekly Family Therapy

You and your daughter will work with a therapist together every week. These sessions focus on rebuilding communication, processing pain, and learning how to support each other through the healing process.

Regular Communication from Imperial to Home

You won't be left in the dark. You'll receive regular updates from your daughter's treatment team, and as she progresses through the program, phone calls and visits increase. We want you connected — not cut off.

Parent Empowerment Classes

This is something most programs don't offer and we believe it makes all the difference.

Our parent classes equip you with real tools: communication strategies, boundary-setting skills, understanding your daughter's mental health, and building a home environment that supports her growth long after treatment ends.

Because when your daughter is ready to come home, the family she returns to matters as much as the work she did here.

Family Visits & In-Person Workshops

As your daughter progresses, there are opportunities for family visits and in-person therapeutic experiences. These aren't just "check-in" visits, they're structured therapeutic moments designed to practice new skills together in a supported environment.

Medical Care and Medication Management

Your daughter's physical health and medication needs are carefully managed throughout her stay.

Our program includes access to psychiatric care for ongoing medication evaluation and adjustment. Many girls arrive on medications that aren't working, or that need to be reconsidered in the context of a more stable therapeutic environment. Our team works closely with families and prescribers to ensure your daughter's medication plan supports her overall treatment goals.

How Your Daughter Grows Through the Program

Our program uses a phase system that gives your daughter clear milestones and increasing privileges as she demonstrates growth. It's designed to build internal motivation — not just compliance.

Each phase introduces new responsibilities, expanded freedoms, and deeper therapeutic work. As your daughter progresses, she earns:

  • Increased phone calls and family contact
  • More off-campus activities and outings
  • Greater independence in daily decisions
  • Leadership opportunities within the community
  • Preparation for her transition home

How We Approach Healing

We help the whole person heal their mind, body, and heart.

Your daughter isn't a diagnosis. She's a complex, capable young woman who is struggling and she needs more than just talk therapy to heal. Our approach integrates clinical therapy, physical wellness, creative expression, and family work because lasting change doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens when every part of her life is supported.

We use a trauma-informed lens for everything we do.

Many of the girls who come to Imperial have experienced trauma — whether that's a single event, ongoing stress, or relational wounds that built up over time. Our entire team is trained to understand how trauma affects the brain and behavior. That means your daughter won't be punished for trauma responses. She'll be met with understanding, taught new skills, and empowered to build a different relationship with her emotions.

We believe real change is internalized, not forced.

We use a model grounded in the stages of change, which simply means we meet your daughter wherever she is in her readiness. Some girls arrive angry and resistant. That's okay. Our team knows how to build trust with girls who don't want to be here yet. We don't force breakthroughs; we create the conditions for them.
