We can't thank Imperial Healing House enough for the new skills and help given to our child. Our child has changed for the better. The Imperial team put our worries as parents at ease and helped us navigate through the insurance hoops. We had tried other treatments that didn't stick in the real world. The skills learned through the therapy and help at Imperial has been implemented . Thank you for bring our child out of the dark despair and back into our lives.
Imperial helped save my daughter and our family. We are grateful for the support and for everyone that helped us. Seeing my daughter implement the life skills she learned is truly a gift.
It has been 5 months since I graduated from Imperial Healing Estate and I have to say that it was such an incredible experience. I’d been struggling with my mental health since I was 15 and finally at 17 I was placed into this Residential.
The staff are incredible. They make sure to listen to you, take and give constructive criticism, explain decisions well, and so much more. Tora and Jess definitely had a huge impact on me and have helped me become so much more vulnerable with myself and others. Of course, you’ll have disagreements with certain staff, you won’t blend with certain personalities, etc., but if you take the time to see different point of views and to communicate, you’ll see how much everyone cares about you there.
Of course, not everything was sunshine and rainbows, I jump and get scared when I hear heavy bangs because a girl slammed her head multiple times into the floor while I was there. It’s things like that that you have to accept as something you’ll see due to it being filled with sixteen, mentally ill girls who are struggling with their own situations. But, those same girls created such a positive impact on me and I wouldn’t trade the things I learned from those girls for anything. I’ve seen a couple girls leave and just knew that they weren’t ready for it.
My biggest advice is to accept your situation and work with it. If you do not go in with an open mind, you will not be able to help yourself as much as you could. Imperial is an amazing, caring, and challenging residential to attend and I recommend it 100%.- trina, past student.
We found this residential option after failing to find an option in the State we live in, our journey up until admitting our teen daughter into Imperial Healing House had been a parent's worst nightmare. After so much pain, heartache, tears and sleepless nights while our daughter moved from hospital to hospital without any progress we finally found hope at Imperial Healing House.
The level of care they offer, the program protocol, the friendly warm staff, amazing quality of food, the cozy warm comforts of home, the communication and responsiveness, the cleanliness and organization, the activities, the therapy, the academics, the focus on family, the peer support is exactly what we need. This place so far has exceeded our expectations and has given us hope and my daughter a future. I can't say more positive words, I'm just so grateful and thankful this place exists.
Words cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Imperial. They worked hard and as a team and gave me my daughter back.
She was cast aside by another treatment center and therapist. Imperial tried different medications until they found the ones that would work. They allowed her eyes to be opened to things that were really going on and taught her the skills to be able to make the changes she needed to make.
Her first day there they told me she would try to get herself kicked out and they would be there holding her hand through the whole process.A big shout out to Michelle and Jess thank you for seeing the good in her and bringing it back out and never giving up on her.
I was a patient here two years ago around October 2021 to January 2022 and I wouldn't say i loved being here but I can see now how helpful it was. First of all the house is gorgeous, had a great view, we did get to go outside pretty often, the view always amazed me. Since we got out of the house often it didn't feel like we were in prison, this place also doesn't look like a hospital either it's like a home away from home for the time your there. Beds are super comfy, the showers are great, you can wear what ever clothes you want (to a certain degree). I had a great group of people who I was in with, staff was super supportive.
We got to leave the house pretty often for horse therapy or Field trips. I really enjoyed the school, it is online but with support when needed. We did have some incidents that did leave some mental scars on me but that was fully on the girls that I was in treatment with. A mental facility is always changing because of the people who are in it, so your experience could be totally different. My therapist wasnt the best and did not give me a full hour sometimes her name is Melissa or some M name I wouldn't recommend her for your therapist she seemed pretty bored in some of our sessions.
Therapist leave pretty often it seems so I won't have this hold you back from going here. The food is phenomenal the chef is so kind and truly cares about the people she cooks for. We got to try alot of different types of cultures food with her. The ranks are pretty easy to get through if you doing what you need to and are not an ahole. What I mean by this is even at the highest rank you can have an off day and still succeed here. I was able to complete the program completely all the way to oak through my 3 and a half months I was here. One thing I loved about the phase system is you earn more perks while your growing like seeing and calling family more, getting to leave the house more. Especially with Aspen and Maple you get to leave the house for a treat once a week you also get to wear makeup eventually I forgot which phase. Which seems small but when you can do it in so long it just makes you feel stunning when you do.
The schedule is pretty packed for the day but open enough you still have time to play cards, read a book, and talk to your friends. Especially on weekends you get to have a lot more free time cause there is no school or therapy classes. There is also a lot of therapy classes that are tons of fun my favorite was yoga but there is also art and rec.
Overall my experience was positive and really changed my outlook on my self and how I deserve to be treated. I now know more about healthy coping and boundaries which has helped my life so much. This place has truly changed me but for the better I've talked with friends about there experience with there residential I was shocked how other residential treat this patients. This has caused them to have a bad relationship with therapy which can be so damaging when all they needed was a good support system. I can confidently say this place when I needed most gave me support that will help me for my entirety life and changed how I see life. If you have to send your kid to a residential I would completely wholeheartedly recommend this place. Not only for the great living condition, fantastic food, and great therapy in a ton of different forms but because it helped me so much!
Honestly I was a patient here and the staff were just amazing, there was a few staff and this one particular staff who was always just moody and not making it feel like a comfortable feeling. But all of the supervisor staff are amazing, they are very observant and use that to know how to interact with each patient. The schooling is good, it honestly just depends on the other girls in the house and how they act together. If you are in the house during Easter or Valentines, the staff usually do something fun for us. The groups and very good, we get to decide our participation it just reflects back on us and our privilege's such as going outside to other events.
The food is amazing, the chef Wayne is so funny and takes request for snacks and juice and fruit and meals we want and even sometimes decide what we do for food group. Over all though the therapists are really good, but just considering I had a really bad one before this, they try to interact with the whole house and not only their own patients. They are patient, and understanding and knowing what were going through and noticing and helping us through it. We go outside and plant or eat or do a camp fire and paint bird houses and just fun stuff, the weekend are fun and very chill and light Saturday chores.
That's all I'm gonna put but Jess the supervisor deserves a raise she is amazing and treated me like one of her own, and Lauefy for always matching my energy! I learned a lot of coping skills and got time to learn and use information family therapy to work and make sure my home environment is safe. The physiatrist and nurse are so kind and funny.
Parents - if you're as scared as I was about all the reports of abuse, neglect and/or general mismanagement of Residential Treatment Facilities, you're going to want to read this. Imperial Healing Estate is not only one of the GOOD ones - they're SUPERB.
Truly. My daughter went in with intense suicidality. I'd heard the KUER series "Shut Away" and had read reviews of kids being treated like felons at best, like animals at the worst. I was terrified. Imperial went above and beyond to not only answer my questions, but to ensure I had transparency into what was happening with my girl. She was given a confidential call every week, so I knew she could tell me if anything was out of sorts. Lexi and the rest of the staff answered any and all questions I had in a timely and kind manner. I can't say enough good things. And my girl is doing beautifully. But ask ALL the questions. Their answers and their policies of safety will give you great peace and hope.
My sweet niece spent the better part of a year in treatment at Imperial Healing Estates and, as hard as Treatment is, it was a life saving and life changing experience! She has always been a gentle soul who is very empathetic and easily damaged by abuse and trauma and negative emotions.
The Therapists and staff at Imperial gave her a voice. She has so many tools and words to protect herself. They worked with my amazing sister (her mom) in family therapy as well, so they would know how to work together to heal from their individual traumas. And so they could recognize how to help each other when they were back at home again. It is so awesome when they teach me things that they learned at IHE and it has helped me improve myself too.
The treatment is very individual as well. Since she had emotional problems but not behavioral problems, she earned many privileges as the weeks and months went on. She is a vegetarian and likes to eat healthy and was able to have a say in what meals were planned and prepared. The staff was always really nice to me and my husband (whom she considers her father) when we would come for visits or to pick her up for weekends at home since we lived close. As tough as the situation was, IHE made it better.
Placing a child in treatment is a difficult decision. You invite their team into your family circle and entrust them with the care of your loved one. I knew what kind of an environment and treatment team I hoped to invite into our family. When I walked into Imperial Healing Estate it felt like a home where my daughter would be kept both physically and emotionally safe. A place where she could learn the skills and tools to live her best life. They did not disappoint.
The team at IHE was welcoming, communicative and very helpful. The care plan they developed for my daughter was tailored to her specific needs. They worked hard (and sometimes creatively) to involve all of the family members in the healing process so she could return home to a healthier family with more effective communication skills and better boundaries.
I would not hesitate to refer anyone I love to the care of this wonderful place and their skilled team. We appreciate them. They’ve changed our lives and given our daughter mental and emotional freedom she didn’t dream was possible. We love Imperial!
I am a former patient of Imperial Healing Estate. And the reason I am alive to even write this review is because of the care I received at this facility. I am so thankful that my mom looked at other options instead of just doing what insurance already covered. She knew from her research that the facility that my insurance promoted would not be a healing environment. It would keep me safe, sure, but it wouldn't do much else. She narrowed it down to a couple choices, and settled on Imperial.
Every year I celebrate the day I was admitted as the day I started taking my life back. To me, it is far more important than the day I was discharged. I'll be honest that at the time, I wasn't too pleased about it. Nobody wants to be in treatment. I spent about a week telling everyone with conviction that I didn't need to be there, and that it's great for other people who are not me. I didn't put effort into therapy and assignments.
After that first week, though, I realized that I was going to be there for a while so I might as well try. Because if I truly tried my best and it didn't change anything than it really was useless. I am here to tell you that you will get out what you put in. I worked harder than I ever had before to not just face my demons, but sit down with them and confront them and understand them.
Therapy is one of the hardest things anyone can do. But that is also why it can be so life changing. I was there for 8 months, and I saw many other girls come and go, refusing to engage, digging their heels in, and making an absolute miserable experience for themselves. I could've done the same thing. I just chose to accept and use the resources and tools they provided.
For so many years, I didn't see myself making it to 16. I am proud to say that I am in school right now to become a social worker (I felt so inspired by the people who gave me excellent care. I am proud to be an Imperial Healing Estate graduate.
Clinical staff is experienced and absolutely superb. Their program is geared for structured, progressive recovery for adolescent females dealing with trauma and suicidal indeation. Program and shift leads are caring, experienced, and professional. The program methods are based on best practices for trauma healing and recovery.
Was able to receive a tour of this beautiful treatment-based home. Home gives off a therapeutic environment focused on wellness, calm, and safety. All amenities that clients could need are accessible to them. The school room has good staff there to aid the clients through their schooling journey. They have additional staff available to process with the clients as needed. Staff were friendly and engaging.
This facility and its staff saved our daughters life. I cant imagine where we would be without them. Thank you to Jean, Daniel and all of the other staff that took care of her.
Ms. Grey has worked with me and my family on moving forward. They are good people.
My sister went into Imperial, she was in a rough place in her, the staff and therapist there helped her get through so much. I can’t thank them enough for helping my sister get through everything she needed help with.
